Although China remains the largest producer of total CO2 emissions in the world (followed by the United States, India, Russia and Japan, respectively), the per capita carbon footprint for three of the top five polluting countries is larger than that of China.
It's interesting to see that the United States, although still very high is at least trending downwards thereby indicating progress. The other countries with the exception of the consistent Japan all trend upwards.
