Whether you love him or hate him, there is no doubt that Donald Trump has made an impact on the Republican primary battle. The question is: is it a good or bad impact? According to a recent WSJ/NBC poll, a strong majority of Americans believe it to be the latter. Less than one in four registered voters think that Trump's bid for the presidency casts the Republican party in a flattering light.
He's helping to draw people to pay attention to the shenanigans of the Grand Ole Party. Anyone with enough flare, decades of celebrity, and confidence can excite the core of a mob. Question is: How does the majority rule when the majority is factionally formed? Especially when an outlier sieges the platform(s).
It will be a fascinating time leading up to the primaries.
