2012 airline safety rankings reveal a large disparity in the safeness of various airline companies. In America, the top airline, Southwest, ranked 21st with an index of 19, followed by Delta (28th). Asiana, the airline company of the Boeing 777 that last week crashed into San Francisco International Airport, ranked 46th, with a safety index of 188 (best index: 0).
