In many of the most densely populated cities, air quality is so low that citizens actually suffer health disorders, and death, in rates sometimes 20% higher than that of cleaner cities. Lung diseases among such populations is exponentially higher, so too are birth defects, heart disease and cancer rates. 3.2 million people died from air pollution effects in 2010.
