On December 5th, 2013, a group of Christian fighters attacked the capital of the Central African Republic with machetes and rifles. At least 98 have been confirmed dead. Approximately 600 french peace soldiers were already stationed in the country during the assault and the UN has approved another 600 to be sent on stabilizing and peacekeeping missions.
