Regardless of if they are Democratic or Republican, presidents consistently score the same approval ratings from those of their own party, generally in the high 70s, and from those of the opposing party, which has gradually declined in recent decades. Voters' approval rating seem far less predicated on the president's effectiveness than on whether they are of the same party.
