Sulfur Dioxide Emissions from Coal Power Plant, reduced by Greg Bowers' efforts | 55 | 10 |
Greg Bowers, an electrical power engineer, has spent years of his life and most of his savings fighting the air pollution produced by an aging coal-burning power plant near Seattle. Bowers’ suits have steeply reduced pollution, from 55,000 tons to 10,000 tons of sulfur dioxide released per year, but he fights on because even with improved standards people are dying.
