Global carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, and methane levels have continued to increase during the last 30 years. CFC-12 and CFC-11 have remained at high levels, despite the Montreal Protocol in 1989, which banned these chemicals from being released. It will likely take years for these chemicals to fully leave the atmosphere.
