Over 200,000 Megawatt hours of generated electricity came from renewable power sources in 2014. This is the first time in history the United States has surpassed that mark. Surely we'll need to continue this upward trend moving forward into the future.

It's promising to see this curve comfortably sloping upward, though as you said, we unquestionably have to dedicate more research and investment to keep this trend going.
