When asked what they would do if they saw someone that they were a follower or friend of on social media post something offensive, Americans' hypothetical responses were widely dependent on the nature of the offensive post. Interestingly, we are typically ready to jump into a political debate, with 41% saying they would comment on an offensive political post. When it comes to standing up against homophobic or sexist posts in particular, however, we usually shy away and ignore them.
