Perhaps due to numerous high-profile shootings in the United States, the number of Americans that believe having a gun in the house makes it a safer place to be have shot up drastically since 2000. How much were gun ownership rights arguments really a popular idea in the past and how much are they just in the modern day framed to seem like an ancient Constitutional right embraced unconditionally by even conservative Americans since our founding?
