According to a recent survey, household income is a huge factor in whether or not kids can afford to be involved in sports.
Sadly, these kids are probably from a single parent household working at least 1 job to provide food and shelter for the children. Some choose to play and succeed while yet others are attempting to survive the best they can.
This is really unfortunate because sports play such an important part of many of the students' lives during high school. Its where a large percent of kids are able to find their identities.
