Seemingly, Republican legislators should be in a bad position. They successfully fought against various policy initatives on the Democratic agenda that had overwhelming and across-the-board public support, such as reforms concerning immigration, taxes, and gun regulation. Nevertheless, much the result of public antipathy towards President Obama's signature legislation, coined Obamacare, and the abortive launch of its website, Healthcare.gov, Republicans have quickly erased a 7-point Democratic lead in each parties' generic congressional rating.
