Raising the minimum wage is simply not a controversial issue — except on Capitol Hill. Poll after poll reveals that huge, bipartisan majorities of Americans support raising the rate. Recently, a Gallup survey found that 76% of Americans — including 91% of Democrats, 76% of Independents, and 58% of Republicans — support raising the minimum wage to $9 per hour.
Majority of americans may agree but monied interests are stopping needed progress.
