While the proportion of Americans associating themselves as Democratic or Republican has precipitously dropped in the last decade, Americans' overall socio-political ideology (liberal, moderate, conservative) has remained consistent. Independents are now the largest proportion they have been in 70 years. Americans want politicians to put the nation over the party, and work together to solve the challenges we face.
