Do Americans understand their own political system? A recent study by Gallup found that, at least when it comes to Congress, our bicameral legislature is somewhat of an enigma. Although a slim majority of the public were able to identify the party that currently leads the House, only about four in ten knew that each state elects two senators and only three in ten knew that Congressmen serve two-year terms.
