There are a little over two hundred thousand Americans currently incarcerated within the United States. The disparity between men and women in regards to this issue, is immense. More than nine out of every ten of American inmates are males. The number of men serving time in the United States stands at about 195,000, about fourteen times the number of incarcerated women.
