The white population of the United States has plummeted as a percentage of the country's young adult population. Whites represented 84% of the American population aged 18 - 33 in 1963. This number is now just over half at 57%. Whites as a percentage of total US population is expected to fall below the 50% majority by 2043 (see second link below).
