Globally, there are approximately 2.5 million people in forced labor due to human trafficking. The majority of people in forced labor are in Asia and the Pacific, with 1.4 million (56%) forced laborers suffering from the results of human trafficking. Industrialized countries only account for 10.8% of forced laborers, despite generating almost 50% of global profits from human trafficking (source2).
