Since the election of the first Catholic President, the beloved John F. Kennedy, the proportion of US Representatives that are Catholic has risen by nearly 50%, constituting 31.4% of the House in 2012, compared to less than 22% in 1965. The only other religious denomination to see an increase were Baptists. However, they only represent 14.8% of US Representatives.
