According to a recent survey by the Pew Research Center, more adults claim that the Internet would be impossible to give up than other technologies, including cell phones. Cell phones are important to people in their own right however, as 44% of respondents claim it would be impossible to live without them. On the other hand, it seems telephones are only this important when they are mobile as landlines were only essential to 17% of respondents.
