The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act was passed as law in July 2010 in order to improve accountability and promote transparency within the financial sector following the 2008 financial crisis. There are 398 rule-making requirements; only slightly over half have been finalized. 96 of these requirements have not even been proposed as rules yet.
