This graph shows the rates of whooping cough (pertussis) in California over the half century. The data show that after the introduction of the pertussis vaccine, the number of cases dropped dramatically, but that in the last decade, the cases are on the rise. Currently, in 2014, epidemiologists consider California to be suffering from a whopping cough epidemic.
