The UN has seen a substantial leap in its budget in just the last decade, jumping from $1.5 billion in the late 90s to nearly $8 billion in 2013. Real dedication to peacekeeping, however, has yet to take hold. The world’s armies could not operate for even two days on the current annual peacekeeping budget.
