The legacy of World War II's Allied victory is remembered very differently across various countries, even among the Allied countries themselves. Over half of Americans give the US the most credit for winning the war, while half of Brits give the nod to the UK. Also interesting is the perspective of the Germans, over a quarter of which say it was the Soviet Union that deserves the most credit for winning the war, perhaps because it was the Soviets who made it to Berlin first.
