Gallup conducted a survey of a random sample 1,025 Americans on March 5-8 using cellphone and landline telephone interviews. Participants were asked the question "Do you favor or oppose hydraulic fracturing or 'fracking' as a means of increasing the production of natural gas and oil in the U.S.?" . According to the survey, the highest number of supporters for fracking are Republicans, while the highest number of opponents are Democrats.
