While a stable transition of governance occurs amongst political parties every several years in many Western countries, for much of the world, even in democratic countries, political authority is far less secure, and revolution by those with the true power, far more common. Four countries have had two coups in the last decade: Egypt, Guinea-Bissau, Fiji, and Mauritania.
