When asked their view on the NSA secretly listening to Americans for anti-terrorism efforts, 47% of the population viewed it as acceptable in 2006, and in 2013. However, this consistency belies the extreme change in the opinions of members of the two major parties, which saw a complete reversal in approval based on their party being in power.
