Gallup measures engagement at work as a product of workers' perceived relationship with their manager as well as their own personal interest and belief in the mission of their job. Workers at all levels of engagement are most comfortable talking to their bosses about 'Purpose,' or their daily role and motivation. Even among the most engaged of workers, however, many Americans feel uncomfortable talking to their bosses about their financial wellbeing.
