Over a year before his verdict, over half of blacks said Zimmerman was 'definitely guilty,' while 27% refrained from making an opinion so early into the case. This was opposed to 61% of nonblacks who either refrained, or, perhaps due to much lower rates of following the story in the first place, had no opinion on the matter at all.
