The American Pitbull Terrier has one of the best temperaments of any dog breed. The breed has a 86.4% passing rate according to American Temperament Test Society, beating out popular breeds such as the Golden Retriever(84.9%), Chihuahua(71.1%), Cocker Spaniel(81.9%), and German Shepherd(84.8%). The American Pitbull has a similar disposition of the standard Poodle, who passed at a 86.6% rate. Only a few breeds have been shown to have a better temperament than Pitbull's, one of the being the Labrador Retriever, and lesser known breeds such as the Brittany Spaniel(90.7).
