Cocaine has slightly decreased from 700,000 in 2009 to 600,000 in 2012. Despite the decrease, only 500,000 admitted using cocaine in 2011. Marijuana popularity has grown steadily, from 6.7 million in 2009 to 7.3 million in 2012. This uptick in use could be attributed to relaxed drug laws in various states and at the time pending(but now passed) legislation to legalize marijuana in states like Colorado and Washington.
