Overall, it seems that women tend to take more mood altering drugs in order to relax. Note, this survey includes people who use both legal and illegal drugs in both legal and illegal ways. Also notably, drug use spikes in the wake of a separation or divorce and does so most notably in women. Are women more invested in close-relationships?
Cool chart. How strange that singles use the least overall. I would expect the married category to be the "least user." Were there statistics on legal vs. illegal drug use using the same categories? I wonder how different those charts would be...
Thanks. I agree, but I think that the inclusion of legal prescription drugs may be skewing the data. Sadly, there was no information on legal vs. illegal. I feel that women would have higher legal prescription drug use and men would have higher illegal drug use, but that is just speculation.
