The Contraceptive CHOICE study followed a cohort of sexually active teenagers between ages 14-19 in St. Louis. The study measured the effectiveness of the Long-Acting Reversible Contraceptive (LARC) intra-uterine device (IUD) against unplanned pregnancy, induced abortion, and live births. Results show 2% of CHOICE teens vs 10% of other teens gave live births between 2008 and 2013.
