Revenue in Billions (USD)

Large internet sites, such as Facebook, ESPN, and Yahoo, have dramatically increased the supply of online-video-ad space, driving historically hindering prices down. Moreover, smartphones' inherent suitability for location-based ad targeting, has increased online-video-ad demand. By 2017, smartphones will account for nearly 50% of all such ads. Correspondingly, our lives will be even more filled with ads-- everywhere we go.
I feel that there are already so many ads on my mobile device. I cannot imagine an increase of that magnitude. Also, it is unclear to me what the bars represent. Are you saying that in 2016, 65.8 % of ads will be on a mobile device or is it that people will see that amount of ads in a day or a week? Thank you for any clarification.
Hey Alejandro, thanks for that; it's supposed to be revenue in billions US$ annually. And yes, even with the continued decrease in price (down 17% from 2011 to 2012), such revenue from mobile phones is expected to increase at a 49.7% annual compound growth rate from 2013. That "already so many ads" you see now, only 10% of all online video ads, will be 47% by the end of 2016.
The increase from 10% to 47% is astronomical to me. I can't imagine having to put up with that many adds when trying to use my cellphone. It definitely makes sense though, considering the large increase in revenue.
