Well not so fast. The 2011 Pew survey shows that people still prefer the old fashioned books in certain situations. A remarkable observation from this research is that paper books are preferred when there's a person-to-person interaction (i.e., "sharing books with other people").
It is frustrating not to be able to loan e-books to friends. On the other hand my house has long ago run out of space to hold all the paper books we consume. What to do?
There's always the good, old-fashioned library! I love bringing my kids to the library to "get lost in the stacks". Of course, now they also get lost in the iPads there too!
