According to Common Core State Standards Initiative, only five states have not adopted the controversial Common Core Standards. Of these states, three (Alaska, Texas, Nebraska) have Republican governors while the other two (Virginia and Minnesota) have democratic governors. Although widely implemented across the US, there is bipartisan opposition to the Common Core Program.
