As the top company on the Fortune 500 and largest American private employer in 2013, Walmart posts revenues eclipsing the GDP of entire countries. Part of this enormous success is due to sub-poverty level wages it pays its rank-and-file employees, leaving them to seek government assistance and burden the taxpayer.
