For many physicians, compensation levels are inversely related to their willingness to choose a medical career, again. Those least likely to become physicians again-- plastic surgeons, anesthesiologists, radiologists, and orthopedists-- are among the highest-earners. However, they are also among the most likely to work over 40 hours weekly. The lowest-earning physicians are most inclined to again decide to become doctors.
