Pew Research Center and USA today polled 1,504 adults from January 15-19, 2014 to determine their opinions on what would do more to reduce poverty. Democrats (75%) believe raising taxes on the wealthy is the best solution. Republicans (59%) believe, although not as strongly, that lowering taxes on the wealth is the best possible solution.
