A popular conservative talking point is that China is "eating our lunch." According to GDP growth percentages, China is growing at a much faster rate than America. However, America's total 2014 GDP was roughly 17 million while China's was 10 million. Thus, a growth rate doesn't always tell the entire story. America's GDP is almost equal to that of the European Union while China's is almost half. That should give some perspective.
