BeyondThePurchase.Org conducted a national survey and asked people "If you needed $1,000 for an unplanned expense, what would you do to obtain the money?" As the graph shows, only 60.7% of people have $1,000 saved for an emergency. This percent is very close to a recent study conducted by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (see link below).
