Rachel Dolezal made waves last week when the story broke that despite her claims of African American heritage, both of her parents are Caucasian. Interestingly, black Americans are much more open to the idea of Dolezal's shifting identity than white Americans. About one third of black Americans are accepting of her decision to identify with their race despite the fact that she is indeed naturally a white woman.
