In just a little over a decade, cell phones have revolutionized communication in Africa. In 2002, only a handful of adults in African nations like Ghana, Kenya and Uganda possessed cell phones. In 2014, however, the numbers have changed dramatically. About four out of five adults in Ghana and Kenya now own cellular devices, and the percentage of adults that possess cell phones in South Africa is equal to that in the United States.
