In the history of March Madness, three or more victories in championship game seem to differentiate these teams from the rest of the pack. There are 7 universities that have won twice and 21 that have won once. However, some of these championship teams are consistent while others endured periods of clustered success. For example, UCLA won all but one of their championships from 1964 to 1975; whereas, Kentucky has won various championships, dating back as far as 1948 and as recent as 2012. Also, runner up games do not seem to be necessarily focused around eras of championship wins.
