The rise of Netflix is an interesting history. When Netflix first began there wasn't much controversy because competitors saw it as a cheap service with movies that nobody wanted to watch. Over the years the debacle grew to licensing issues with movies and shows to try and stop the streaming giant from killing cable. After Netflix ran Blockbuster and other DVD rental businesses out of the industry, it began shifting towards cable and the big screen. Netflix has original shows and now movies that have become blockbuster (no pun intended) hits.
