An Oxford study tracked every single bite consumed of 55,000 British omnivores, only fish eaters, vegetarians, and vegans, and was able to determine exactly how much CO2 went into producing the food they ate. Though eating fish appears to release only slightly more CO2 than being vegetarian, it is also important to consider how over fished the oceans currently are.
