Americans are slowly changing their view of prayer in the class room. Over the last 15 years, there has been a 9 point increase in the percent of people who oppose daily prayer in the classroom with a parallel 9 point decline in those favoring daily prayer. Notably, 1999 - 2001 saw a 4 point decline in classroom prayer approval.
We need to pray
I'm pretty surprised that we still have over 60% in favor of prayer in the classroom. I know we are a religious country but I thought most Americans were behind separation of church and school.
