Facebook reaches an astounding 81% of the total digital population. The rest: Google+ 38%, LinkedIn 37%, Twitter 36%, Instagram 34%, Pinterest 29%, Tumbler 25%, Vine 14%, Snapchat 11%.

As other social media networks grow in popularity, this chart serves a reminder that nobody comes close to matching Facebook's engagement. Facebook had 230 billion minutes of user engagement, 18 times greater than the next biggest social network.

Without Facebook included it's easier to get a sense of how the rest of the social networks compare. Instagram has almost double the engagement of the next three closest networks. Snapchat which has a smaller overall audience reach and is known for disappearing photos/videos has a surprisingly high level of engagement. Although Google+ and LinkedIn have a high % reach of the total digital population, they have low engagement numbers.
