Spousal abuse is a despicable tragedy, no matter the form. Perhaps what is worse, though, is that in many countries, women believe that such abuse is permissible. A survey by UNICEF found that, in the country of Jordan, a staggering nine out of every ten women rationalized the tragic belief that their husbands are justified in hitting them.
